Personal Pathology Consulting
The patient-centered pathology approach is a rising concept in which patients have the opportunity to discuss their pathology report with a board-certified pathologist.

The goal of our consultations is to educate patients on their current diagnosis. It can be very overwhelming and confusing to read a pathology report and then try to make sense of the medical jargon. At Personal Pathology Consulting, we want to simplify that process and bring clarity to patients by explaining the report and diagnosis.

By providing new knowledge and facts to patients, it will enable patients to think clearer during a potentially anxious and uncertain time.
Kent Newsom, DO

Dr. Kent J Newsom, a board-certified pathologist, has a robust training in a general pathology training, followed by completion of a gastrointestinal and pancreatic pathology fellowship, as well as several years of general surgery training. Dr. Newsom actively participates in tumor board and consults with many other colleagues across the US on the variety of cases he diagnoses. He is a member of the College of American Pathologists, and a University adjunct faculty member. He offers to patients his expertise in clinical as well as anatomical pathology.
Dr. Newsom understands the uncertainty and anxiety patients experience awaiting and receiving their pathology report. During his general surgery training prior to becoming a pathologist, he was able to talk with and educate patients who were to undergo surgery. Now, Dr. Newsom is dedicating himself to provide patients with education of their diagnosis whether it has been diagnosed by himself or another pathologist.
