Personal Pathology Consulting has launched! Started by a Valparaiso, Indiana native, Dr. Kent Newsom had completed several years of a general surgery residency before completing his pathology residency, followed by a subspecialty fellowship. After reflection on his surgery years and what little time patients got to discuss their diagnosis with their physicians, he realized the demand for a service in which patients can discuss their diagnosis.

We live in a world of seeking more information. We have so much it at our fingertips, however, much of that information is generalized. Specifically, online health research is very generalized as every person is unique, and every body is unique. Therefore, the personalized approach to discuss pathology results, given a patient's history, can be invaluable in the course of treatment. Patients will gain confidence in getting clarification and understanding about their specific diagnosis.

Patients are now able to download their pathology report and send it directly to Dr. Newsom for review and schedule a personalized consultation over the phone or via video conferencing.
